A is for Apple

Hello again familes! Thanks to those of you who commented, glad to see you are enjoying the blog so far. I wanted to post a few pics from last week before it gets too late! Last week we talked about the letter Aa and how it makes 2 sounds. We had fun making applesauce on Friday also. I love applesauce day because the room smells great all day while its cooking!!!

Here are some of the language centers we did in the am:

I gave the kiddos "whisper phones" and they got to practice whisper reading books to themselves. Look at that great pointing!

Emily is writing classmates names, they love doing this!
Sofia is hunting for letters in rice bottles.
I opened up the computer center and they were really excited about using computers in class.
Aaron spelled his passwords all by himself!
Drew and Aiden are writing words on dry erase boards.

Check out the awesome sorting Gianna did! The kids became experts at this! Ask them to help you sort the laundry at home!!

Apple time!! Here we are talking about the steps to make applesauce:

Everyone got to help put some chopped up apples in the crockpot.
Then, they all got to help mash them up.
 Last step-- enjoy!

We also had an apple taste test to see what color apple everyone liked best. We graphed our results.

Ask your son or daughter if they liked the applesauce and maybe you can make some at home!

Welcome families to our class blog!

Hi families, welcome to my class blog! This will give you a great look inside our classroom to see what your child does all day. I have a great group of kiddos this year, who are already learning so much! I will try my best to post weekly on here so you can see what we have been up to at school. Feel free to share this with your child and you may also follow me or leave comments! (I love getting comments so I know people are actually looking at this thing:))

The following pics are from last week. In the morning, the kids work on ABC activivites like matching upper and lowercase letters, ordering the alphabet, handwriting, and also the VERY important skill of working together and sharing!

Last week out letter of the week was Mm. In Math we were learning about shapes, so we made Shape Monsters! They turned out so cute and are now hanging outside in our hallway.

On Friday, we also got to circle paint using marshmallows!! Why? Because marshmallow starts with the letter M! The kids had a lot of fun doing this and they even got to eat one of the (clean) marshmallows when they were done!

That's all from last week, look for more posts to come!
